How to play

  1. Pick a difficulty, then left-click any cell to start. The first click is always safe — mines are placed afterwards, away from where you clicked.
  2. A revealed number tells you how many mines touch that cell (including diagonals). Blank cells have no neighbouring mines and open up the area around them automatically.
  3. Right-click (or long-press on touch) to plant a 🚩 flag on a cell you think hides a mine. The counter top-left shows mines left to flag.
  4. Use the numbers to deduce which cells are safe and which are mines. Reveal every safe cell to win. Hit a mine and the board is over — tap the 🙂 face to try again.

FAQ

Can I lose on my very first click?

No. The mines are generated after your first click and are kept away from that cell and its immediate neighbours, so your opening move always reveals a safe area — usually a nice cascade of numbers to work from.

How do I flag a mine on my phone?

Press and hold a cell for about half a second and it drops a flag; a normal tap reveals instead. On a desktop, right-click toggles the flag. The mine counter goes down each time you flag a cell.

Are my best times saved?

Yes — your fastest clear for each difficulty is stored locally in your browser, so it stays on this device with no account needed. Clearing your browser data will reset it.
