About this tool
Working out an exact age by hand is fiddly — you have to borrow days from the previous month and months from the year, and remember which months are short. This calculator does all of that for you the moment you pick a date, and even lets you check an age at any point in the past or future using the second date field.

FAQ
How is my exact age calculated?
We take the difference between your birth date and the target date, then borrow days and months so you never see a negative value — full years first, then the leftover months and days, exactly the way you'd count on a calendar.
Does it count leap years?
Yes. Every figure uses real calendar dates, so February 29ths and the different lengths of each month are handled automatically. The total-days number is the true count of days between the two dates.
Is my birth date stored?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser with JavaScript. Your birth date is never uploaded, saved or shared with anyone.
