How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the number. For example 15% of 200 is 15 ÷ 100 × 200 = 30. The first calculator on this page does it for you as you type.
How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the first number by the second and multiply by 100. For example 30 out of 200 is 30 ÷ 200 × 100 = 15%. Use the second calculator above to work it out instantly.
How is percentage change calculated?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, then multiply by 100. A positive result is an increase and a negative result is a decrease — for instance 50 to 75 is a 50% increase.
